A wise man once said, “An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” These words belonged to Mahatma Gandhi, who discouraged violence and advocated for India’s independence in the early 1900s. Gandhi's impact then has motivated modern-day people to promote positive change through peaceful means. Doctor Gandhi
Gandhi's first choice for a career path was to become a doctor. But, under his father’s influence, he decided to study law in England instead. Gandhi had a rough start on his journey to becoming a lawyer when he became speechless during his debut in court while trying to question a witness. It was another day in court in South Africa when he was asked to remove his turban, that Gandhi noticed the poor treatment and segregation of Indian immigrants. His devotion to fighting against prejudice was ignited after being removed from a train when he refused to sit at the back in 1893. Gandhi spent the remainder of his life conducting non-violent protests to fight for Indian rights.
