Periodic Table
One of the most important parts of chemistry, the Periodic Table came about in its first edition in 1789. Antoine Lavoisier published a list of 33 chemical elements, which were grouped into gases, metals, non-metals, and earths. Over the years many different iterations of these classifications continue. The modern periodic table is sometimes expanded into a long or 32-column form as proposed by Alfred Werner. Otherwise, it’s found in an 18-column form.
