When it came to the world of sports during the 1980s, the 1984 Summer Olympics boycott remains one of the biggest sport scandals of the decade. The 1984 Game took place in Los Angeles, USA where the entire Eastern Bloc, which was made up of the USSR at the time, and its countries allies, decided to boycott the ’84 Summer Games as a response to the United States leading the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott in Moscow. This was a major tit for tat moment amongst some of the biggest countries in the world, and it was all in the name of sports!
