The coastal city was inspired after Newport County, Rhode Island, which inspired the name of many ‘Family Guy’ locations, including the Drunken Clam, and an array of jokes and lines touching on the show's location.

Beta vulgaris. That's what chard is. Would you want to eat beta vulgaris? More importantly, would you want to answer quiz questions by a person whose chosen name (chardemagne) is a portmanteau of Charlemagne and Chard? Well, it turns out that vulgaris actually means "common" not "disgusting", in the original Latin. One wonders if chard was the second most common greenery available? But let's talk about Charlemagne instead, because rather than being vulgar or common, Charlemagne was an emperor, a medieval one, and a benevolent one. That's pretty impressive.
