I think we can all agree that cracking open a fresh fortune cookie is just one of those things that brings a smile to anyone's face. But be honest now, how many of you actually eat the cookie? Here is your chance to reveal your fortune, anytime you like, without having to pretend like you're not going to eat the cookie.

How old were you when you learned that fortune cookies did not originate in China? You might also be shocked then to know that the modern fortune cookie was first served at by Makoto Hagiwara, at a Japanese Tea Garder in San Francisco sometime around late 1890. However, there is a competing claim by the Hongkong Noodle Company in Los Angeles, that states that they invented the cookie in 1918. The dispute was brought in front of a judge in 1983. During the proceedings, a fortune cookie was presented to the court as evidence. The cookie read "S.F. Judge who rules for L.A. Not Very Smart Cookie." Not surprisingly, the judge ruled in favor of Hagiwara.
